About Rwanda Management Institute (RMI)

Kanombe
KN 87 St Kigali
RMI is a public training institution with legal personality, financial and administrative autonomy. The institute has adopted a new name; it dates as far back as 1963 when it was initially created by the Rwandan Government in collaboration with the Belgian colonial government as a Rwandan Centre for Cadre Training (CRFC). The centre envisioned training and recycling middle public servants. After the 1994 genocide, the Government of National Unity embarked on a program of social transformation by initiating a series of government reforms geared towards facilitating the attainment of the Vision 2020 objectives. At that time, Continuing Education Institutions were rethinking their missions and strategies in order to become real development catalysts. This rethinking had to take into account new orientations of the country in terms of comprehensive development and strategic innovations that are of paramount importance in strengthening the impact of continuing education institutions.
